Dr. Edmund Chein: Pioneer In HGH Use In U.S.
April 7, 2009 | Leave a Comment
Dr. Edmund Chein opened a clinic in Mexico years ago, offering his patients human growth hormone (hgh) injections to avoid the FDA’s ban on the use of human growth hormone (hgh) on adult patients that was in effect before 1996.
Regarding this he states, “In one case you are talking growth hormone deficiency in children and in the other case, you are talking growth hormone deficiency in adults.” The FDA accepted his argument, and in 1994 he becamethe first doctor in the United States to openly offer growth hormone replacement.

Off Label HGH Prescribing Lands Doctor In Trouble
December 8, 2008 | Leave a Comment
WENATCHEE — The state medical commission has charged a Wenatchee plastic surgeon with inappropriately prescribing human growth hormones (hgh) to two men who didn’t need them.
The state says Dr. Kenneth M. Jones, 59, promoted human growth hormones (hgh) for anti-aging purposes. Jones said he didn’t do anything wrong. He owns and operates Valley Plastic Surgery in Wenatchee and says the state has no guidelines to determine how low someone’s hormone levels should be before they’re considered deficient, leaving doctors to make their own judgment.

WADA Has HGH Blood Test
April 2, 2008 | Leave a Comment
It looks as though a legitimate test for HGH has been developed.
The World Anti-Doping Agency announced Tuesday that it had purchased thousands of kits to screen blood for human growth hormone and that expanded testing would begin for HGH within weeks.
The purchase of the kits will, for the first time, allow widespread out-of-competition testing for the hormone (HGH)Â and will allow the authorities to test all athletes participating in the Olympics this summer in Beijing.

HGH:Legal For Some, Illegal For Others
March 18, 2008 | Leave a Comment
HGH is FDA approved to treat specific medical conditions. However, more recently it is being used for muscle building, increasing strength, and for antiaging purposes:
Human growth hormone (HGH) is a naturally occurring polypeptide hormone secreted by the pituitary gland and is essential for body growth. Daily secretion of HGH increases throughout childhood, peaking during adolescence, and steadily declining thereafter. In 1985, synthetic HGH was developed and approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for specific uses. However, it is commonly abused by athletes, bodybuilders, and aging adults for its ability increase muscle mass and decrease body fat, as well as its purported potential to improve athletic performance and reverse the effects of aging.

If HGH Is Banned By Many, What Can We Use?
February 29, 2008 | Leave a Comment
Athletes are getting busted using HGH. It is only a matter of time before a reliable test to detect HGH hits the market. Then anyone using it may be subject to scrutiny by law enforcement, employers, their peers, and more. Is it worth it?
WASHINGTON — A Congressional committee asked the Justice Department on Wednesday to investigate whether Roger Clemens made false statements under oath about his suspected use of steroids and human growth hormone, strengthening the possibility that he could be charged with perjury.

Is HGH legal? MSN looks at the facts.Â
Touted as a wonder drug that builds muscle, sheds fat, and restores youth, HGH has grown into a multibillion-dollar worldwide business, by some estimates. Stallone’s HGH Rants Spread As Rambo Opens Nationwide
January 29, 2008 | Leave a Comment
Sylvester Stallone recently disclosed that he used HGH and Testosterone to get in shape for his new movie Rambo.  Stallone clearly does NOT look like the typical 60 year old. He looks more like a bodybuilder, sporting ripped and toned muscles, and little body fat.
“You have to put in years and years and years of hard labor to stay in shape,†Stallone went on. “The most important thing about HGH — and I think more people should be aware of this — is it really takes off the wear and tear that your body takes. The power to recuperate is very, very limited. So all it does is expedite.â€
Although associated with sports, HGH is said to be very popular in Hollywood among stars trying to stave off the effects of age. Doctors in anti-aging clinics also prescribe it because of its reported ability to add thickness and elasticity to skin, improve vision, and make it easier to recover after physical exercise — a big advantage for athletes and bodybuilders.
And, apparently, for action heroes.

Some Celebrities Use HGH To Look and Feel Younger
December 11, 2007 | Leave a Comment
Growing old is one thing. Looking old is another, and it is not something that many celebrities accept with grace. In order for celebrities to succeed in our appearance-obsessed society they can’t afford to look wrinkled, frail, or flabby. Can HGH help?Â
Celebrities such as Sylvester Stallone have recently been accused of using HGH. In preparation for his role in Rocky Balboa, Stallone is said to have used HGH to bulk up.
“You don’t see 60 year olds like that,” Yesalis said. “It goes back to the whole issue of how [Americans] view aging — we want to look fit and athletic.”
Though legal prescriptions of HGH are limited to patients who do not naturally produce enough of the hormone as children, doctors have been finding “off label uses” for HGH and have been testing its effect, Yesalis said.
“With baby boomers who don’t accept getting old and a current generation who is appearance-obsessed, everyone is looking for a quick fix. Because of modern advances, taking pills and supplements have become very much a part of our culture,” Yesalis said.
