The Aaron Maybin skepticism has begun.

Yesterday on PennLive.com, Bob Flounders reported that the former Nittany Lion defensive end and predicted top ten draft pick wowed the NFL scouts at Penn State’s Pro Day.

 Flounders reported that Maybin ran a 4.59 40 and put on 25 pounds of muscle. Before and after photos accompanied the post.

Maybin’s amazing transformation caught the eye of the popular NFL blog ProFootballTalk.com and sparked numerous comments which whispered incredulously with HGH (human growth hormone) and steroid slander.

Sad news out of Texas-steroid dealer found dead:

PLANO, Texas (AFP) — David Jacobs, a convicted steroids dealer who told National Football League officials he sold performance-enhancing drugs to several players, was found dead of gunshot wounds at his home Thursday, police said.

The bodies of Jacobs, 35, and 30-year-old Amanda Jo Earhart-Savell were found early Thursday morning by Plano police.

Police spokesman Rick McDonald did not say whether the case was being treated as a double homicide or murder-suicide, and authorities did not immediately say whether a weapon was found at the scene.

Jacobs met with NFL security officials two weeks ago and gave them names of players to whom he claimed to have sold steroids and human growth hormone (HGH).

Jacobs’ lawyer Hank Hockeimer told the Dallas Morning News newspaper that Jacobs told the league about his knowledge of drug use by current and former NFL players but Hockeimer did not disclose the names.
