Women aren’t the only ones who’ve been sold (and pretty much bought, until recently, at least) the idea that a natural life passage, menopause, is a medical condition that requires hormone therapy medication — that is, if you want to avoid becoming a wizened, sexless, neurotic hag.

During the past decade, men have been receiving a similar sales pitch. They’re now told that they, too, have a middle-aged passage (andropause!) that requires hormonal supplements, mostly testosterone. Only by keeping their body’s stock of this hormone at a youthful level, claim the supplements’ advocates, can men avoid “testosterone deficiency syndrome” and maintain their energy, muscle mass, memory and sex drive into old age.

The sales pitch seems to be working. As reported today in the Los Angeles Times, sales of testosterone prescriptions have jumped from 64,800 in 1999 to 3.3 million in 2008. But is there any evidence to support the beneficial claims made for testosterone? And what are the known risks of taking supplements of this hormone?

Grandpa seems shorter than last year. Old men are grumpy. Oh, don’t worry about Earl _ he always nods off after lunch. Sometimes stereotypes are true. Men don’t like to think about it, but they face their own menopause, and shrinkage, crankiness and sleepiness can be the result. Male “andropause” is comparatively gentle: While menopause is a jump-off that can leave a woman in a new body in less than a year, men older than 30 lose only 1 percent of their testosterone annually. But the easiness of men’s decline doesn’t mean it isn’t a decline.

The natural medical response is to want to replenish low hormone levels. Yet no large-scale study has done for men what the massive Women’s Health Initiative did for women: Investigate the effects of replacing important sex hormones in the aging. But as demographic shifts bring an increasingly older population, male hormone replacement therapy, or HRT, is becoming a priority. “We’re trying to slow down the aging process,” said Dr. Ellen Binder of Washington University in St. Louis. “Daily activities, lifting groceries, climbing stairs, walking,” will all improve, she hopes. Other potential benefits include enhanced virility. This fall, Binder will coordinate a four-month study to give 20 St. Louis men ages 65 to 90 a topical testosterone gel and injections of human growth hormone (HGH). Binder plans more studies after this one, and hers is one of three across the country. Male HRT can encompass a number of hormones, and scientists know the short-term effects of many of them. For example, testosterone, the most important of these, prevents muscle loss and improves spatial-visual skills. That’s one reason baseball players benefit so much from taking testosterone and other substances like it, known as androgens.

Increasing one’s varois hormone levels, including human growth hormone (hgh) may help the symptoms of menopause in women and andropause in men:

Subcutaneous implantation of testosterone hormone pellets can increase sex drive, energy, focus, lean muscle tissue, drive, and decrease irritability in both men and women while subcutaneous implantation of estrogen hormone pellets relieves persistent menopausal symptoms in perimenopausal and postmenopausal women. The result is an enhanced quality of life and sense of wellbeing. These rice grain sized pellets are bio-identical hormone pellets have been around since the late 1940’s. They are making a come-back as more alternative and health-conscious minded adults are tired of “being tired” and who want more out of life. This anti-aging movement involving testosterone and human growth hormone (HGH) started in the 1990’s and has been more recently been popularized by Suzanne Somers and Sylvester Stallone.

USDoctor.com takes a look at hormones:

The term ‘hormone’ comes from the Greek and is interpreted as “to excite.’  With appropriate levels of biologically identical hormones (bio-identical), the body is excited into action.  Hormones not only help athletes run faster, they help the body repair faster, think faster, and perform using less energy.  Life without hormones is less life, less action and a more rapid demise.

What we have learned these last 50 years is that the natural levels of hormone drop precipitously as we age.  The drop in hormones from 40 to 50 is 30% and with the menopause, women experience an 90% drop in estrogens and a 75% drop in testosterone.  And men are now losing 25-40% of their ‘manly’ hormones from 35 to 50. No wonder we see so much depression, insomnia, hot flashes, decrease sex drive, and disease.  Our bodies are falling apart without our life-sustaining hormones. Now major natural hormones include, not only estrogen, progesterone and testosterone but also thyroid, DHEA, HGH, cortisol and insulin.

There is clinical research to support findings that HGH can help men with sexual dysfunction.

In the first clinical anylisys of the effects of HGH therapy in 202 people including 172 men , fully three quarters of the participants said that they had an increase in sexual potency or frequency. And 62% of the men reported that they were able to maintain an erection for a longer period of time. Since the vast majority on HGH therapy report an increase of sexual appetite and performance , it is strongly suspected that HGH plays a pivotal role in sexual health.

Myfit.ca has an interesting take on HGH:

In this day and age, it seems that more and more women and young teens are starving themselves to be in the current “skinny mode”. Why is this happening?

In this overly commercially orientated world, with skinny models all over the world, and people trying to emulate that “look”, I am quite sure it started with Twiggy, in the 1960’s. I think Twiggy was smart. She looked at her skinny little frame and realized that she was not like most girls, so instead of hiding herself she flaunted it.

So…..what if you could burn fat without dieting or exercising; increase your muscle mass without exercise; improve your sexual drive and performance; enhance your athletic performance and endurance; have younger, tighter, thicker skin; eliminate cellulite; dramatically support truly refreshing deep sleep; build stronger bones; alleviate menopause and male “andropause”; improve your cholesterol and triglyceride profiles; strengthen your heart while lowering blood pressure; even improve your hair growth and texture; improve mood, memory and concentration; strengthen your immune system; and likely add years to your life?

Well… with HGH enhancements you can. Over 28,000 medical studies say you can!

We found an HGH product that offers a 90 day money back guarantee…they are so sure you will experience great results! Click here to read about this amazing HGH product.
