Cognitive enrichment activities—puzzles, social interaction, and the like—may help you preserve brain function as you age. But physical activity may be just as important, according to a review article published last week by the Association for Psychological Science. “What is most impressive to us,” the authors write, “is the evidence demonstrating benefits of aerobic physical exercise on cognitive functioning in older adults.”

Many different mechanisms are thought to be responsible for the exercise-brain connection, including a growth factor called FGF-2 that is produced by exercise and is thought to be involved in the generation of new neurons, U.S. News’s Katherine Hobson reports. When you exercise more intensely, your brain produces human growth hormone that cuts belly fat, adds muscle, and “pump[s] up” brain volume, says one expert.

BANGALORE, June 29 (Reuters) - Teva Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd  said U.S. health regulators approved its partner Antares Pharma Inc’s needle-free injector device to administer the Israeli company’s human growth hormone.

“This is an important validation of the Teva partnership, which is  the primary driver of our valuation and excitement about Antares stock,” Ladenburg Thalmann analyst Matthew Kaplan said by phone.

Shares of Antares rose as much as 58 percent to a new year high of $1.14, before paring some gains to trade up at $1.02 in morning trade Monday on the American Stock Exchange.

Teva, the world’s largest generic drug maker, and Antares filed a supplemental new drug application last year to use the needle-free device to administer Tev-Tropin, a human growth hormone.

Human growth hormone is a protein, given by injection, that is commonly used to treat children with growth hormone deficiency.

ZURICH, June 25 (Reuters) - Japanese regulators approved a human growth hormone from Novartis AG, the first green light in Japan for a biosimilar or generic version of a biotech drug, the Swiss drugmaker said on Thursday

Biosimilars are viewed as a promising new market, given the pent-up demand for cheaper versions of extremely expensive biotech drugs, some of which are coming to the end of their patent life.

Somatropin, made by Novartis’ generics unit Sandoz, is for treatment of growth hormone deficiency in children and growth disturbance associated with Turner’s syndrome or chronic renal insufficiency, the group said.

Even though it is touted as a “fountain of youth” drug, HGH has the potential for side effects. Read about the benefits of an all natural HGH product that has NO side effects, and is 100% legal. Click here!

Dr. Tom Werner is used to a game in which the playing field keeps changing. A recently retired professor of chemistry at Union College, Werner developed a course called “Chemistry and Athletic Performance” with the help of Dr. Don Catlin, the world-renowned director of the UCLA Olympic Analytical Lab.

“There’s always new versions of drugs that come out and new ways for athletes to take the drugs,” Werner said. “An example is HGH (human growth hormone). There’s no good way to analyze for it, and they often take it as a cocktail with steroids at levels that are difficult to detect.”

Werner was inspired to start his “Chemistry and Athletic Performance” course by the work of Catlin, specifically in the federal case against Victor Conte and his Bay Area Laboratory Co-operative (BALCO), which has become synonymous with rampant drug cheating at the highest level of sports.

While anti-aging creams, some with HGH, are so glamorised that only the fairest of celebrities are used to advertise them, the long-term effects are far from beautiful.

Some products may contain HGH or ingredients that stimulate the body to produce its own HGH. Ironically, the hormones don’t slow the aging process, they just hide the symptoms.

Animal studies have shown that animals that produce more growth hormone in old age have a shorter life span. Studies have also shown that HGH causes carpal tunnel syndrome and diabetes. And it has not been adequately tested.

Wow! Is there a safe alternative to real HGH? Yes! Click here to read more about the 100% safe and legal oral spray.

Despite significant reduction in cholesterol levels in adults with growth hormone deficiency treated with recombinant human growth hormone (rhGH), taking lower doses of rhGH may not result in improvement in cardiac structure and function, according to research presented here at the Endocrine Society’s 91st Annual Meeting.

A recent meta-analysis showed that GH replacement improves exercise performance and has positive effects on cardiac structure, body composition, and lipids, said Katalin A. Frisch, MD, Department of Medicine, New York University Medical Center, New York, New York.

“Most studies included in the meta-analysis employed supraphysiological concentrations of GH, from 6 to 15.7 mg per week,” noted Dr. Frisch on June 11.

In a newly published study by one of the first mind-body researchers, Dr. Lee Berk, it has been shown that amusing laughter reduces cholesterol, stress, and inflammation.

In his previous research, Dr. Berk has shown that just the anticipation of regular laughter also:

  • Increases levels of feel-good beta-endorphins by 27%
  • Raises levels of human growth hormone (HGH) by 87%. HGH helps to optimize immunity.
  • Lowers levels of the stress hormones cortisol and epinephrine (adrenaline) by 39 and 70% respectively.

The American Medical Association says there’s no scientific proof to back up the claims of anti-aging hormones including human growth hormone (HGH).

At their annual meeting in Chicago on Monday, AMA delegates adopted a new policy on products such as HGH, DHEA and testosterone used as aging remedies. With HGH, the AMA says evidence suggests long-term use can present more risks than benefits. The risks include tissue swelling and diabetes. And the AMA says there’s no credible evidence that other hormones, so-called bio-identicals, are safer than traditional estrogen and progesterone products. The traditional hormones are only recommended for menopause symptoms at the lowest possible dose because of long-term health risks. The AMA says anti-aging hormone promoters need to rigorous studies to prove, or disprove, their claims.

Hyperbaric oxygen therapy was long called a treatment in search of diseases. But in recent years, laboratory and clinical studies have found more than a dozen serious diseases for which it is considered a valuable — and sometimes life-saving — treatment.

…the therapy was useful in treating diabetic foot ulcers and bone infections. It is beneficial for patients whose tissues were damaged by radiation therapy  — cancer patients, for example, who can develop oxygen-deficient wounds that do not heal well. Hyperbaric oxygen promotes the release of growth hormone (hgh) and helps to form blood vessels in irradiated tissue.
