Take a look at this information regarding HGH used to help treat obesity:

A new meta-analysis indicated the safety and efficacy of recombinant human growth hormone (HGH) therapy in obese adults. Researchers used Cochrane, EMBASE, Medline and other databases to identify published results that indicated the effects of recombinant human growth hormone (HGH) as obesity therapy. The meta-analysis revealed that obese patients assigned to recombinant HGH experienced significant changes in body composition, such as decreases in fat mass (–0.9 kg), percent body fat (–1%), visceral adipose area (–22.8 cm2) and increases in lean body mass (1.8 kg). Lipid profile also improved with administration of recombinant HGH, with significant decreases in total cholesterol (–7 mg/dL) and LDL (–9 mg/dL).  Further, obese patients experienced increases in fasting plasma glucose (3 mg/dL) and insulin (1.9 mcU/mL); however, improvements in insulin were only observed in short-term studies.

Take a look at what HGH can do for children and young adults:

Human growth hormone (HGH) is important for normal growth and development, as well as for maintaining tissues and organs. It is made by the pituitary gland, a pea-sized structure located at the base of the brain.

Research supports supplemental use of human growth hormone (HGH) injections in certain circumstances. For instance, HGH injections can improve the growth of children who do not produce enough HGH. Sometimes HGH injections may be prescribed for young adults whose obesity is the result of having had their pituitary gland surgically removed. These uses are different from taking HGH as an anti-aging strategy. As with other hormones, HGH levels often decline with age, but this decrease is not necessarily bad.

Move over HGH. Viagra may be the next banned substance in pro sports:

SCRANTON, Pa. — When George Downey and other lacrosse players at Marywood University volunteered to take Viagra for a study, he received a snickering nickname from his high school coach. His parents jokingly told their friends. Inquiring minds sent messages to his Facebook page.

“They’re making fun of me,” Downey, 19, said good-naturedly. “Deep down, I think they’re looking for tips.”

Except that the Marywood study does not involve the bedroom, but the playing field. It is being financed by the World Anti-Doping Agency, which is investigating whether the diamond-shaped blue pills create an unfair competitive advantage in dilating an athlete’s blood vessels and unduly increasing oxygen-carrying capacity. If so, the agency could ban the drug.

Viagra, or sildenafil citrate, was devised to treat pulmonary hypertension, or high blood pressure in arteries of the lungs. The drug works by suppressing an enzyme that controls blood flow, allowing the vessels to relax and widen. The same mechanism facilitates blood flow into the penis of impotent men. In the case of athletes, increased cardiac output and more efficient transport of oxygenated fuel to the muscles can enhance endurance.

“Basically, it allows you to compete with a sea level, or near sea level, aerobic capacity at altitude,” Kenneth W. Rundell, the director of the Human Performance Laboratory at Marywood, said of Viagra.

Let’s see how much Roger Clemens can keep denying his HGH use if this latest twist pans out:

NEW YORK (AP) — Roger Clemens’ former trainer gave samples of his DNA to federal investigators trying to ascertain whether the star pitcher committed perjury before Congress, two New York newspapers reported.

The request for a DNA sample from trainer Brian McNamee suggests that investigators found readable DNA on the syringes, needles and gauze pads McNamee turned over to federal prosecutors in January, The New York Times and Daily News reported Monday night.

McNamee’s lawyers have said the items, when tested, would link Clemens to the use of performance-enhancing drugs. They claim McNamee used those needles and a gauze pad while injecting Clemens with steroids and human growth hormone.

Investigators must determine whose DNA is on that material if it is going to be important to the probe. It’s not clear whether federal authorities have a sample of DNA from Clemens, The Times said. His lawyer, Rusty Hardin, would not divulge that information.

HGH may give you that extra “boost” you have been looking for. So can proper hydration:

Drink Plenty of Water All Day Long! 6-8 glasses of water per day is preferable. If plain water is unappealing to you, add lemon for some flavor. This will help in a number of ways.
1. It will keep your skin hydrated.
2. It will also help to flush out the toxins.
3. It will hydrate the joints, tendons and ligaments of the body, potentially lessening pain and lowering the risk of injury.

What can human growth hormone do for healthy older adults who don’t need it?

Studies of healthy older adults taking human growth hormone (hgh) are limited. Many involve a small number of people followed for a short period of time. The studies that have been conducted have found that human growth hormone (hgh) injections can increase muscle mass and reduce the amount of body fat in healthy older adults.

Current HGH tests can only detect the use within a period of 24 to 36 hours, making it easy to beat, and new testing is definitely needed.

BEVERLY HILLS, Calif. — Make no mistake, there really is a test that can detect the abuse of human growth hormone (HGH) by athletes. A blood test, it was used at the recent Olympics in Beijing, as well as at the Games in Turin and Athens.

But because there hasn’t been one positive result in more than 8,000 tests conducted on Olympic athletes, skeptics question its effectiveness. Because it can detect the use of HGH only within a period of 24 to 36 hours, and hasn’t been widely implemented in out-of-competition testing, the test is easy to beat.

A year ago Saturday, a federal grand jury in San Francisco first charged Barry Bonds with lying about his use of steroids and human growth hormone (hgh), and in the ensuing months, bits and pieces of the government’s evidence have emerged during pretrial skirmishing. That evidence leaves little doubt Bonds used the drugs.

There are, for example, positive tests for two steroids, a drug calendar showing use of testosterone and human growth hormone (HGH) every Monday in December 2001, a receipt showing a purchase of a $1,500 supply of HGH for “off season” and “in season,” and a former personal manager and a scorned girlfriend who say they saw what Bonds was doing and argued with him about it.
