If HGH Is Banned By Many, What Can We Use?
February 29, 2008 | Leave a Comment
Athletes are getting busted using HGH. It is only a matter of time before a reliable test to detect HGH hits the market. Then anyone using it may be subject to scrutiny by law enforcement, employers, their peers, and more. Is it worth it?
WASHINGTON — A Congressional committee asked the Justice Department on Wednesday to investigate whether Roger Clemens made false statements under oath about his suspected use of steroids and human growth hormone, strengthening the possibility that he could be charged with perjury.

Exercise Effects HGH Release
February 28, 2008 | Leave a Comment
Bodybuilding.com has something to say about HGH:
Exercise is probably the largest contributor to HGH release. Exercise appears as though it effects the HGH release through numerous different mechanisms such as:
Neural Input
Direct stimulation by catecholamines
Lactic & nitric oxide
Changes in acid-base balance (Godfrey, R, et al, 2003)
Different types of exercises impact the HGH in different ways however.

Hormones Like HGH Excite The Body Into Action
February 27, 2008 | Leave a Comment
USDoctor.com takes a look at hormones:Â
The term ‘hormone’ comes from the Greek and is interpreted as “to excite.’ With appropriate levels of biologically identical hormones (bio-identical), the body is excited into action. Hormones not only help athletes run faster, they help the body repair faster, think faster, and perform using less energy. Life without hormones is less life, less action and a more rapid demise.
What we have learned these last 50 years is that the natural levels of hormone drop precipitously as we age. The drop in hormones from 40 to 50 is 30% and with the menopause, women experience an 90% drop in estrogens and a 75% drop in testosterone. And men are now losing 25-40% of their ‘manly’ hormones from 35 to 50. No wonder we see so much depression, insomnia, hot flashes, decrease sex drive, and disease. Our bodies are falling apart without our life-sustaining hormones. Now major natural hormones include, not only estrogen, progesterone and testosterone but also thyroid, DHEA, HGH, cortisol and insulin.

HGH Is Used to Ease Effects Of Disease
February 26, 2008 | Leave a Comment
HGH can help ease the effects of  many suffering from disease and injury.
HGHÂ helps people whose bodies are under stress or wasting because of the effects of AIDS (Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome), burns, or traumatic injuries. In AIDS, the wasting syndrome is characterized by significant, unintended weight loss. If you have AIDS and have lost a lot of weight, HGH may help you gain weight. If you add a regimen of resistance exercise (weightbearing workouts), you can accumulate more muscle. Another study showed that after a trauma (severe injury), HGH along with adequate daily nutrition helped to enhance metabolism.

HGH 101
February 25, 2008 | Leave a Comment
What is HGH, and why is it so important?Â
Natural HGH is manufactured by the pituitary gland, a structure about the size of a small grape located at the base of the brain. Its main job is to stimulate the production of bone, muscle and cartilage in growing children. Hence, the hormone is most active during childhood and adolescence when the body is still developing. After the age of 20, however, HGH production starts to drop off, and continues falling throughout adulthood into old age.

Protein & HGH
February 22, 2008 | Leave a Comment
The following article on protein explains why eating properly is so important for a healthy lifestyle. Good nutrition and exercise can help boost your natural HGH levels. Â
Once you know how much protein you need per day, divide that number by 4 or 5. If we use the 200 pound person as an example again, they should ideally get 4 to 5 servings of protein a day rather than eating 2 or 3 huge meals. Eating frequently like this–4 to 6 small meals per day is best. I like to call it ‘graze don’t gorge’. Grazing unquestionably provides multiple anti-aging benefits. For one, the ability to digest the food is better since you are not overloading your body with too much food for it too handle at one time. Secondly, by forcing your body to metabolize the food every couple of hours, your metabolism
becomes much more active and more able to burn body fat. Lastly, eating protein frequently creates a situation in the body called positive nitrogen balance–which is normally associated with the preservation or enhancement of desirable lean muscle tissue.

HGH Side Effects
February 21, 2008 | Leave a Comment
HGH, like many drugs has side effects. Take a look:
Prolonged HGH excess thickens the bones of the jaw, fingers and toes. Resulting heaviness of the jaw and increased thickness of digits is referred to as acromegaly. Accompanying problems can include pressure on nerves (e.g., carpal tunnel syndrome), muscle weakness, insulin resistance or even a rare form of type 2 diabetes, and reduced sexual function.

A Doctor & A Former Model Discuss HGH
February 20, 2008 | Leave a Comment
HGH stands for human growth hormone and is being scrutinized in the medical world of anti-aging. It’s been touted as a return to youth. But what does it really do?
Former model Amanda Whatley decided to start taking HGH. She learned to give herself the shots which she believes will help her lose weight. “At this point I’m on the cusp of watching myself go swish,” she said. “I just feel so much better and my skin, my skin glows.”Â
“Some of the really dramatic improvements are fat reduction, reduction in the amount of fat because it helps metabolize fat,” said plastic surgeon Dr. Fred Aguilar who is Amanda’s doctor. Dr. Aguilar also says he prescribes HGH for anti-aging. “The whole study of anti-aging is based on trying to maintain hormones in our body that keep us youthful as long as we don’t overdo the dosages,” he said. Â

HGH Has A Natural Antidepressant Effect
February 19, 2008 | Leave a Comment
Dr. Ronald Klatz explores HGHÂ in his book, Grow Young With HGH. Here, Dr. Klatz discusses the correlation between HGH decline and depression.
If HGH has a natural antidepressant effect on the brain, it could be a major reason that we are so optimistic and resilient when we are young. With the decline of HGH that comes with age, we not only lose muscle, bone, thymus tissue, body water, and cell division, we lose our joy for life. But with a program of HGH stimulation, we can have it all back again.

Study Finds HGH Can Reverse Aging Process
February 18, 2008 | Leave a Comment
HGH has certainly received a lot of publicity lately. We found an article that discusses a recent clinical study on HGH:Â
In a study published in New England Journal of Medicine, individuals received 6 months of HGH plus gonadal steroids (estrogen and progestin for women and testosterone for men). Body composition was analyzed along with strength, lipid profile, and aerobic capacity. There was significant increase in lean muscle mass and a decrease in body fat by 3.5-18%. There was a significant increase in aerobic capacity. There was an improvement in the lipid profile (decrease in total and LDL “bad†cholesterol). There was also a decrease in blood pressure. Overall, there was found to be a significant additive effect of the sex hormones (estrogen/progesterone/testosterone) and HGH resulting in dramatic improvements in body composition and functioning with a reversal of the aging process.
